Formålet med Ternens Videncenter er, at det skal bidrage til at påvirke forståelsen og indsigten i den socialpolitiske dagsorden på de områder, Ternen beskæftiger sig med. Børn, unge og deres familier er således omdrejningspunktet.

Ternens Videncenter leverer en række ydelser, som gør Ternens interne indsats stærkere.
På baggrund af den interne erfaring, kan vi levere en række eksterne ydelser som for eksempel artikler baseret på praksis, omtale på sociale medier, kursus i magtanvendelser, konsulentbistand i forhold til inklusion i folkeskolen og ledelsescoaching af inklusionsledere.

Stabsfunktionerne vil kunne varetage ydelser som supervision, teamstøtte, psykologbistand til elever, §50 undersøgelser mv.

Forskningen, der udgår fra centeret, skal desuden bidrage til publikationer, intern uddannelse og kvalitetssikring.
